The design brief for the Squadron 55 was to create the best yacht in its class and the uncompromising quality of the marine engineering, equipment, detailing and finish reflect that impeccably. Fine, hand-polished woods and exquisite inlays, elegant soft furnishings and fabrics, sophisticated living areas, all combine to create a unique environment in which to relax and entertain with ultimate style.
This vessel has the very popular 3 stateroom / 2 head layout that offers generous living areas and tremendous privacy. Her galley contains state of the art styling along with a functional design that enhances the ambiance of the open floor plan of the main deck. Rich leather complements the beautiful maple that brightens the interior of this fine yacht. Access to the foredeck is through an exotically crafted aircraft-style door located mid-way along the port side of the main salon. In addition to the private guest accommodations, there is a separate cabin aft for the crew.
More than ample power comes from twin 3196 Cat diesels enable “Spellbound” to cruise at 25 knots with a top speed of 32 knots. There are only 470 engine hours on the main engines and 295 hours on the generator. Three steering stations afford control where you want it, when you want it. A hydraulic Passerelle system can be utilized as either a Mediterranean style boarding ladder or a hoist for the 13’ Novurania RIB tender with a 40 hp Yamaha tender which is housed on the teak swim platform. Full covers for the flybridge and tender are less than 6-months old. The bottom was inspected and painted in 2007.
“Spellbound” is in “as new” condition and will survey out very well.
Accomodations
The Main Salon is an exquisite blend of hand-selected maple and tan leather, resulting in a simple yet elegant look. By opening a curved stainless steel and glass door it opens up to the Cockpit, creating a large and welcoming entertainment area. Custom lighting and sound systems add to the ambiance and complete the vision. Well designed and engineered Air Conditioning and Heating systems assure a comfortable temperature at all times. A large settee, seating up to six people, is located at the aft end of the Main Salon. Opposite, an entertainment center including TV, VCR, DVD with Surround Sound and an AM/FM stereo system is encased in a maple cabinet along with custom glassware, silverware and an icemaker.
Up two stairs is a landing which provides access to the Flybridge as well as to the side deck and foredeck.
Forward, on the port side, is a circular dinette seating 4-5 around a Bird's Eye Maple table with a 360 degree view out to the ocean through expansive glass windows.
To starboard is the Main Helm Station. Seating two in luxurious leather seats, this is the Command Center for controlling and monitoring all operations of the vessel.
Going forward, the Port Guest Stateroom is exquisitely decorated in tasteful fabrics and contains two berths. AC/Heat, as well as opening ports, provide comfort at all times. This Stateroom connects directly to the Guest Head which features a separate stall shower.
The Starboard Guest Stateroom has the same amenities as the Port Guest Stateroom and shares the Guest Head with access through a separate door.
The Master Stateroom extends full beam and features a Queen sized bed on centerline. Generous storage is provided by numerous cabinets and hanging lockers. In addition to the AC/Heating system, with its own separate zone control, opening ports and hatches assure a comfortable environment at all times. TV/VCR and a stereo system put the finishing touches on this Master Stateroom.
The Master Head features the highest quality materials and fixtures as well as ample storage and mirrors. A large, well lit, separate stall shower adds to the luxurious feel of this area.
Flybridge Electronics
Access to the Flybridge is either by stairs in the Main Salon or by ladder in the cockpit. Three comfortable seats, facing a full array of intruments and controls, provide an upper Command Center from which to direct the operations of the vessel. In additionm, there is a curved settee which seats four plus a built-in BBQ grill with a small refrigerator underneath.

Cockpit & Deck
The 13' Novurania tender rests in a cradle set on the teak swim platform. The 40 HP Yamaha outboard was fully serviced in February 2008. This included having the fuel tan drained and cleaned. Directly above it, the hydraulic Passerelle can be used to lift and set the tender in the water or to be used as a gang-plank when moored Med style. Twin electric winches, at each corner of the cockpit, simplify line handling.

Per recommendations from the dealer, the engine ignition system was re-wired and the engine alternators were upgraded in size. The vessel was hauled in March of 2007 during which time the bottom was inspected and painted. The vessel has always been professionally maintained and the exterior finish reflects this care.
